Anti-Speeding Device to lower Car Insurance

Figures relating to road deaths released recently have come as good news with the total number of deaths on the road falling. However the problem is that with the fall in road deaths a disturbing rise in deaths among young drivers aged between 18-25 have also been recorded.

In an attempt to combat the problem a new scheme that has been successful in other parts of the world is set to be introduced to the UK. The new scheme will involve the addition of speed monitoring devices to young driver's cars in return for low cost car insurance.

The scheme is looking for up to 1000 volunteers who will have the devices fitted to their cars in return for up to half price low cost car insurance.

The device will record speed data as a driver travels in their vehicle and will report sustained speeding to the low cost car insurance company as well as warning the driver via audio alerts over 30mph and 70mph. The company will then contact the driver to warn them of the offence. The scheme will allow for an undisclosed amount of speeding but persistent speeder will have the three strikes and your out rule applied to them.

The scheme will be piloted in England with the hope for bringing down young drivers road deaths on the UK roads. This could also mean that young drivers can afford to run a car with the discounts offered giving, low cost car insurance for the fitting the device to your vehicle.
