Girlmotor.com are the women’s car insurer concerned with many women’s car insuring issues. Girlmotor.com aren’t suffragettes mind, and aren’t going to chain their women’s car insuring selves to railings to prove a women’s car insuring point. No. Instead women’s car insurer bar none – Girlmotor.com bring their thousands of women’s car insurers little bits of cheap car insuring news particles, that women’s car insuring favourite Girlmotor.com hope, you wont turn your women’s car insuring nose up at. One such women’s car insuring piece currently doing the women’s car insuring rounds is the anti-allergy cars that Ford are offering. That’s why one of Girlmotor.com's women’s car insuring writers poked around to see what she could find….

To coincide with World Asthma Day, well, surrounding days and weeks to precisely coincide with Girlmotor.com’s researching prowess, the new Ford S-MAX and Galaxy MPVs have been awarded something or other, that’s it – allergy friendly approval – along with the Ford Focus and Focus C-MAX before them, as the only batch of current production vehicles to receive such an accolade from both the British Allergy Foundation and the German TÜV. Allergies are ever present wherever Girlmotor.com may now wander, as in case you hadn’t noticed, summer is very nearly upon us. Which means everyone will be mowing their lawns. (Unless they live in a flat) Which means that all us girl motorists that suffer with pollen, will suddenly become all snotty. Not that it’s solely pollen that can make you sneeze your face clean off. Allergies can be found in a variety of things. And places. Things and places you may not be aware of. Ireland is one such place. And to mark World Asthma month, Ford dealers throughout the Emerald Isle are flogging wrist bands. This alone won’t ward off the evil allergies, but it will go some way to highlight the fact that Ireland has the 4 th largest prevalence of asthma on the planet. Much of which occurs in Irish kids. So, these highly-tested Ford asthmatic-people-carrying devices will be a God send over there that’s for sure.

So what of these tests ask interested mums and dads? Well they were pretty extensive. And scientifically verifiable. Which must count for something? Moreover they were carried out on the S-MAX and Galaxy, as on the Focus and Focus C-MAX earlier this year; and in strict accordance with TÜV examination procedures. Upwards of 100 materials and components were tested for harmful substances and, crucially, allergy-prone properties. Additionally, all components likely to have direct and prolonged skin contact, such as the steering wheel and seat covers, floor mats and seat belts were also dermatologically tested. As they obviously couldn’t be done without. Or you might as well get the bus.

At first glance innocent materials, such as latex, chrome and nickel were given a wide berth by thoughtful Ford Development Engineers, as they discovered all of these can provoke a degree of allergic reaction in many people. And returning to the topic of grass cuttings, these radically overhauled vehicles are also equipped with a high-performance pollen filter, which was also tested by the TÜV. The filter effectively prevents pollen – a particular concern for allergy sufferers – from entering the vehicle’s interior. Which can only be good news for allergy sufferers.
