Insurance Female Drivers less honest than men!
According to research by a leading insurance company, insurance female drivers are less likely to leave their details following an accident with a unattended vehicle than men. Over the last 4 years, 11% more motorists have been prosecuted for failing to stop after an accident, a total of almost 30,000 drivers. Only 1 in 3 under 25s are likely to own up, compared to 2 in 3 over 25s, reflecting a trend towards less moral attitudes amongst younger drivers.
This behaviour costs the average, honest driver an extra £30 a year in car insurance premiums and leads to individual misery for the owner of the damaged car. If the owner has comprehensive cover they risk losing their no claims bonus and therefore face an increase in car insurance premium the following year. If they choose not to claim, or do not have cover, they then have to pay the cost of repair from their own pocket. So if you are unlucky enough to have an accident with an unattended vehicle - leave your details, next time you may be the victim!
