Road Hogs

What lane do you tend to sit in when you're on the motorway? If your answer was the middle lane, then shame on you. A recent survey showed that middle lane hoggers on the motorway are one of the greatest source of annoyances for other road users.

To help combat this problem, some local authorities are placing large signs on the motoroways telling people "Don't Hog the Middle Lane". We fully support this effort as we feel the majority of middle lane hoggers just dont realise why that rule is in place.

There are a few reasons for this rule:

1) Large trucks and lorries are not allowed to go in the fast lane, if someone is sat in the middle lane these large vehicles can not overtake legally.

2) It is also there to stop people from undertaking which can be very dangerous.

So to clarify, STAY IN THE LEFT HAND LANE AT ALL TIMES UNLESS OVERTAKING.

Other popular annoyances included tailgating, people driving too slowly and people not dipping their headlights at night. We advise every road user to study the highway code at least once a year to brush up on some of the topics they may have forgotten since passing their test.
