Man convicted of insurance fraud

A man in America was sentence to a year in prison, after he filed a false insurance claim. The man from Cleveland , Ohio attempted to bury his car in his father backyard so he can claim on his insurance. Yes this is very bizarre but the story goes on..

Matthew Mueller's BMW had severe engine problems and rather that foot the bill for the costs he choose to rent a piece of excavating equipment called a 'Backhoe' dig a hole and bury his car in the back yard of his father grounds. Then he phoned his insurance company claiming that his Beloved BMW ahad ben stolen.

Things started to go wrong for Mr Mueller when got anxious, thinking that a friend my have told the authorities. Thinking his scam had been rumbled, he rented another 'Backhoe' in order to dig the car back, but he had a major problem with the equipment failed and got stuck in the soft mud.

Mr Mueller was then charged and sent to jail, after the police were tip off and the car was dug back up.

His charges were as follows; Insurance fraud, Receiving stolen property and Tampering with evidence and falsification.

Mr Mueller's problems worsened after he had to pay back the money the insurance company paid out and top of that he had to pay $15,500 costs.

What is so baffling is that it would have had saved him more time and money to get the car fixed.
